PRINTING FAQs

All my images are available as prints from my website. Below are some questions that people have asked in the past about purchasing from me;

WHY ARE THERE 2 PRICES FOR SOME PRINTS?

I have linked up with two different providers of printed products – One Vision Imaging and Photobox – to give you maximum choice in terms of products and quality.

One Vision Imaging provide a higher quality finished print and are hence more expensive, although I have found the quality of Photobox to be very good also.

The choice is yours, but if you ever have a problem with a print please please please let me know.

WHY CAN I NOT ORDER LARGER PRINTS?

Some older images and those taken with my phone are smaller files.

Typically these images are optimised for 6″x4″ printing at 300dpi – so 1800 pixels x 1200 pixels or optimised for web viewing only – 1100 pixels max dimension. I am gradually replacing the older files with higher resolution versions and most new pictures that I add are at high resolution.

I would recommend only printing up to 8″x6″ from a 1800 x 1200 file, although the printer companies I use will print larger and do so by utilising advanced software to allow this up-scaling.

In either case, if you would like a larger print and therefore require a higher resolution image, just email me the details of the image you want and the size you want and I’ll upload a hi-res version for you to print from.

I LIVE OUTSIDE THE UK, CAN I STILL BUY A PRINT?

Yes, as far as I am aware prints can be posted from the UK to pretty much anywhere in the World.

I currently have agreements set up with print shops in the UK and the US so prints are made specifically in those locations thereby cutting down on the postage costs and can add Australia if required.

In addition, the price plans currently available are for printing in the UK and the US but I can easily add prices in Euros, Canadian, Australian or New Zealand currencies – just email me your requirements.
